1. BE AWARE

There are things and "ways of being" that are causing us great discomfort yet we continue to do them. This is the wake up call to the obvious and not so obvious.

2. BE HEARD

One single voice of truth spoken with conviction can cause others to listen. One united voice is one that must be heard.

3. BE LOVE

One of the strongest forces in the universe is LOVE. Through eyes, hearts, and minds of love, we connect with the same.

4. BE AN OWNER

This campaign is not for renters - it is for owners. What are you doing in your community, your workplace, your family, your peer group that is making a positive difference?

The Four Parts of the Bthat1 Vision

The Bthat1 Philosophy

The Bthat1 Campaign values the power and potential of one person to positively affect the lives of others. Rather than exclude, accuse, or expect others to do while others observe, Bthat1 promotes the inclusion of all members of our global community to take ownership of their communities as active players and agents of change. The Bthat1 initiative advocates for: cultural inclusion on all levels (age, race, gender, class, etc.) toward positive systemic change, values new perspectives that lead to new insights, and supports the power and impact of one shared vision for global healing.

The Bthat1 School Vision

Communities are built and naturally develop around key social structures (churches, retail outlets, & schools). This provides natural access points for the community to come together and respond to community concerns. Bthat1 focuses communal energy on the fundamental messages of acceptance, compassion, and inclusion within school communities rather than the “anti” discourse (anti-bullying, anti-violence, anti-oppression). The Bthat1 community level vision is for all partners of a community to come together and be active agents of positive change to promote new growth, new relationships, and develop new resources.

The Bthat1 (Be That One) secondary school program philosophy calls upon the actions of one person to make a difference in their world. Whether that be a principal, vice principal, department head or the new grade 10 student walking the halls - one life of triumph can make a world of difference. Through a series of individual and group consultation, facilitated workshops and school auditoriums, Derrick will help your school community actualize and achieve your goals and visions. The difference in this program is the results. Call Derrick now to find out how this program can help your school community.
